18.1.2011 Mearra is looking for ten new developers for full time positions in our Helsinki, Turku, Riga and Valmiera offices. We are a small, rapidly growing international software company focusing on open source web application platform Drupal. For more information about us have a look at www.mearra.com. Developing web applications with Drupal is not all about coding, it's about using existing functionality efficiently and knowing how to extend Drupal when required. Doing projects in Drupal is 10% PHP and 90% Drupal, we are not expecting you to be world class PHP developer. We are instead looking for developers who can understand the customer requirements and the ways how to implement them efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Developing leading web-based software services together with our customers using agile methodology
• Developing your skills constantly
• Sharing your knowledge with the team and – where applicable – the world

Requirements

• Motivation to always improve yourself and learn new things, you will learn something new every day
• Formal training in computer science or at least 3 years of experience in professional application development
• Extensive knowledge of basic technologies: XML, HTTP, relational databases, operating systems
• Experience of working with at least three of the following: PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, MySQL
• Fluent and experienced on at least one programming language
• Genuine interest in open source software development, we do only open source
• Willing and able to work directly with customers as a team, customers are always a part of our project teams
• Excellent written and spoken English, all official project communication is in English
• A valid passport and willingness to travel, our work is international

Considered as bonus

• Experience in closely related technologies: Drupal, Linux administration, Apache, Memcached, Varnish, Tomcat, Apache Solr, REST, Git, Hudson, Jmeter
• Previous experience with working on a Mac/Linux, we have 100% OS X/Linux environment
• Willingness to work abroad for extended periods, we are actively expanding to new markets
• Likes dogs, we often have dogs at our office
• Non-smoking, none of us do
